The First types of Motocross races were called Scrambles. These races were originated in the U.K in 1909 and the name was said to come from the phrase ‘A Rare Old Scramble’. Over the years, riders put in effort to shorten the tracks, add laps and even add obstacles such as jumps.
Who won the first Motocross Race
The first was race was the so-called Southern Scott Scramble. It was held on March 29, 1924, over a 2-5-mile cross-country course in Camberly Heath, England. The winner of the 50-mile race was Arthur Sparks with a time of 2 hours, 1 minute, 51 seconds.
